Sixto Nicholas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elias Pirmin in the 19th minute of the match. Lechuza's Francisco Mitxaut proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Lechuza from getting a goal against them. In the 21st match minute, Lechuza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damian Francesco to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Lechuza's goalkeeper Francisco Mitxaut had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fausto Azeari. Sixto Nicholas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvador Iigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Fausto Azeari managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.F. Monterrey's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Azeari was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Mitxaut breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Salvador Iigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Sixto Nicholas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Pirmin in the 45th minute of play forced C.F. Monterrey's goalkeeper Sixto Nicholas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Salvador Iigo was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, C.F. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Salvador Iigo in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sixto Nicholas saved C.F. Monterrey from getting behind. 76 minutes into the match, C.F. Monterrey's goalkeeper Sixto Nicholas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elias Pirmin. Salvador Iigo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Salvador Iigo managed to get in a good position for a shot.
