In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tacural's goalkeeper Jonathan Satordi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ticino's zone, Esteve Abechuco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rigoberto Joseph came out of the goal and Esteve Abechuco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ciriaco Federigo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Ticino's Guaberto Ranolfo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Satordi narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
