Ernesto Silban came out and tried to block the shot, but Godofredo Geofredo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 17th minute. If Godofredo Geofredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Americo Soin might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Camilo Eutropio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Americo Soin ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute, Americo Soin made a precise shot to the right of Camilo Eutropio. Real Madrid's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Guillermo Tadzio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Silban having to interfere. After 40 played minutes Iguazú AFC got a freekick which was hit by Candido Lorien. Bernabe Filipo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ernesto Silban tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iguazú AFC's Aldo Cortez got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Real Madrid players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Iguazú AFC were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Americo Soin made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Americo Soin in the 51st minute of play forced Real Madrid's goalkeeper Camilo Eutropio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Godofredo Geofredo kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Ernesto Silban took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guillermo Tadzio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 1-3 became the score in the 58th minute when Americo Soin elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Guillermo Tadzio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guillermo Tadzio in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernesto Silban saved Iguazú AFC from getting behind. In the 70th minute, Iguazú AFC's Aldo Cortez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Camilo Eutropio. Camilo Eutropio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. If Godofredo Geofredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernesto Silban took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godofredo Geofredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aldo Cortez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
