Abelardo Aimar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 20th minute, Iker Dei left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Flavio Lawrence fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Aimar having to interfere. 56 minutes into the game, Israel Iratzeder cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-8. Abelardo Aimar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Abelardo Aimar came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Astros de México's Iker Dei. But to his dismay, Iker Dei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-9. 63 minutes into the match, Paulo Román dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Abelardo Aimar, 0-10. Flavio Lawrence fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Aimar having to interfere. Astros de México's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
