The Pieres fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sixto Machado should have stopped the shot. Ernesto Onofre hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Sixto Machado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filip Holmstrøm in the 43rd minute. After 45 played minutes Pieres got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Eguerdi. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Artemio Odon made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Pieres was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Onofre to maneuver through the defense. The attack was good, but when Artemio Odon in the 53rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Sixto Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Odon, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Pieres's zone, Artemio Odon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sixto Machado came out of the goal and Artemio Odon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sixto Machado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filip Holmstrøm's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. 62 minutes into the game, Pieres's Anier Handi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Inocencio Ostots made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Sixto Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filip Holmstrøm in the 65th minute of play. Ernesto Onofre kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 85th minute Artemio Odon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixto Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
