The audience was convinced that Fidel Mantzio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luisito Locaio was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fidel Mantzio to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Francisco Markel managed to get in a good position for a shot. BOCA JUNIOR FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Markel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rigoberto Dei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Angelo Hanni blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rigoberto Dei having to make a save. Martin Mino who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Rigoberto Dei when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Angelo Hanni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Pérez's zone, Martin Mino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rigoberto Dei came out of the goal and Martin Mino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Pérez fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. BOCA JUNIOR FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
