Gilberto Quentin was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Aurelio Joseph. 16 minutes into the game, Tiburcio Telesforo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cobres's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Timbues the free kick. After 16 played minutes Cobres got a freekick which was hit by Tiburcio Telesforo. Victoriano Lluis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pastor Kismi's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Timbues's goal looked a bit too open when Marciano Cordaro came free, but Gilberto Quentin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 44 minutes, Fausto Bernebe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Timbues and the Cobres players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cobres booed when Timbues was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Bernebe didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Marciano Cordaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. But to his dismay, Marciano Cordaro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Gaspar Matia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Gilberto Quentin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aurelio Joseph's late challenge caught a Timbues's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilberto Quentin came out of the goal and Marciano Cordaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cobres's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
