In the 31stth minute of the game Clodoveo Liher who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but rojos de chihuahua's Efrain Oto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in rojos de chihuahua's zone, Clodoveo Liher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Efrain Oto came out of the goal and Clodoveo Liher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fausto Xabel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafino Loi in the 45th minute of play. Fausto Xabel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lisandro Sazon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 61st minute of the match Higinio Miliano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fausto Xabel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 97th minute, Elias Kauldi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee ended the match the Tijuana Stars players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
