The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Uriel Cutberto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matias Llorienzo having to interfere. When Leopoldo Jatsu came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Quimilí fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopoldo Jatsu couldn't finish the play. Leopoldo Jatsus short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Genaro Rito to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 19 played minutes Población FC got a freekick which was hit by Generoso Elixio. Iker Rubio's late challenge caught a Quimilí's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iker Rubio helped the player get up and apologised. After 21 played minutes Población FC got a freekick which was hit by Iker Rubio. Genaro Rito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Poncio, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. An unexpected shot in the 29th minute by Leopoldo Jatsu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Samuel Poncio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Genaro Rito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Población FC's Iker Rubio got his second yellow card of the match in the 38th minute. The referee ordered Iker Rubio off the ground. In the 39th minute, Iker Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leopoldo Jatsu struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Genaro Rito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quimilí. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuel Poncio to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Bruno Rosario mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Población FC and the Quimilí players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Quimilí booed when Población FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Rosario didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Población FC's Uriel Cutberto got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Samuel Poncio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Genaro Rito having to make a save. In the 59th minute, Samuel Poncio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Virgilio Sedeni kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 64 played minutes Población FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Perfecto. Leopoldo Jatsu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Genaro Rito having to make a save. Leopoldo Jatsu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 74 minutes, Angelino Cordarrell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quimilí and the Población FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Samuel Poncio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Genaro Rito was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Aureliano Efraim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Quimilí booed when Población FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uriel Cutberto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leopoldo Jatsu scored 1-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Genaro Rito, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Samuel Poncio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Genaro Rito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Leopoldo Jatsu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Genaro Rito was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Población FC's Leonardo Perfecto got a free kick in the 95th minute. Samuel Poncio took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Genaro Rito. Genaro Rito dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Quimilí's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
