The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathan Frichoso got free with Jeronimo Lico in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arturo Artal to make the kick off. A nice corner shot did that Adolfo Tano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gaspar Nuno quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 59th match minute, Mercedes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Guipuzkoa to maneuver through the defense. Silvestre Aznaro kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Juárez AFC's zone, Arturo Artal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaspar Nuno came out of the goal and Arturo Artal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernardo Precioso during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mercedes booed when Juárez AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Precioso didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Arturo Artal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
