After 3 minutes, Arnulfo Oroitz made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Castaño's Anselmo Marz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 10 minutes into the game, Anselmo Aresti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castaño's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taco the free kick. In the 11th minute, Jorge Vergaray got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Ramiro Tercero managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Castaño's Urbano Jerrald fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Wilfredo Abaurre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute Arnulfo Oroitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Marz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Castaño's Anselmo Aresti got his second yellow card of the match in the 22nd minute. The referee ordered Anselmo Aresti off the ground. A collision led to Castaño getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Anselmo Aresti hit a great ball. Fabio Urtungo hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the game, Jorge Vergaray cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Anselmo Marz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Anselmo Marz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnulfo Oroitz in the 40th minute of play. In the 45th minute Jorge Vergaray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Marz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Vergaray sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Urbano Jerrald made the kick off in the second half. Castaño's Urbano Jerrald got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Castaño's Anselmo Marz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Castaño from getting a goal against them. Urbano Jerrald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilfredo Abaurre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Ramiro Tercero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jorge Vergaray came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Taco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Vergaray couldn't finish the play. Castaño's Anselmo Marz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Vergaray in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the game, Urbano Jerrald was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castaño's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taco the free kick. In the 80th match minute, Castaño was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urbano Jerrald to maneuver through the defense. Arnulfo Oroitz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anselmo Marz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Jorge Vergaray did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-3 to the left of a surprised Anselmo Marz 85 minutes into the match. Urbano Jerrald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Castaño booed when Taco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnulfo Oroitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Taco players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
