Spectators: 7205 (Terracing: 5511, Seating: 1689, VIP seats: 5) Marcos Lawrence made the kick off and thus started the match. Carmelo Sugar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Javier Botello in the 7th minute of the match. After 8 minutes C.F. Monterrey's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Javier Botello who took care of the corner kick. Andres Matro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Carlos Perrando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andres Matro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, C.F. Monterrey's Andres Matro got a free kick in the 20th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 齐常正 in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carmelo Sugar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 27 minutes into the game, Andres Matro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.F. Monterrey's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. In the 27th match minute, C.F. Monterrey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andres Matro to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Placido Eron hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laureano Isadore during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th minute, Laureano Isadore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute, Javier Botello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Victoriano Rius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Perrando having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 齐常正 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mexico's Modesto Abadie got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rolando Bilintx hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 齐常正's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carmelo Sugar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. C.F. Monterrey's Carmelo Sugar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Javier Botello in the 61st minute of play. 齐常正 came free with the goalkeeper in the 62nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Carmelo Sugar could save by the left post. After having played for 72 minutes, Javier Botello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Javier Botello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, 齐常正 put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Carmelo Sugar. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Carmelo Sugar successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Mexico's 齐常正 looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 88 minutes into the match, 齐常正 notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of C.F. Monterrey's Carmelo Sugar. Carmelo Sugar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 94th minute, Mexico's 齐常正 ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carmelo Sugar. Carmelo Sugar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than C.F. Monterrey throughout the match.
