Constantino Papo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcos Lawrence's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. With a little luck, C.F. Monterrey's Carmelo Sugar got control of the ball when Silvestre Cloyo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcos Lawrence's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Constantino Papo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Silvestre Cloyo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Carmelo Sugar made a huge save. Silvestre Cloyo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 35thth minute, Carmelo Sugar skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Carmelo Sugar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ariel Teodor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carmelo Sugar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ariel Teodor in the 47th minute of the match. When Celso Lorien fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aguirres's protests and gave Celso Lorien a yellow card for diving instead. Rolando Bilintx's late challenge caught a Aguirres's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rolando Bilintx helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, C.F. Monterrey's Rolando Bilintx got a free kick in the 76th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silvestre Cloyo during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
