After having played for 9 minutes, Genaro Federigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trapiche's supporters crossed their fingers, but Genaro Federigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Karamfil Makriev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Yasraf Darodjatun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Trapiche's Leonides Salomon got control of the ball when Karamfil Makriev tried to sneak it across the goal line. Orlando Balasi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fulgencio Lehior in the 27th minute of play. Cruz Azul F.C's Karamfil Makriev got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leonides Salomon was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Yasraf Darodjatun capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Yasraf Darodjatun really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Leonides Salomon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karamfil Makriev's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Leonides Salomon made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Yasraf Darodjatun sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteve Oalo in the 39th minute of play forced Cruz Azul F.C's goalkeeper Orlando Balasi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute, Genaro Federigo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Trapiche fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 44 played minutes, Trapiche's Javier Cayo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Orlando Balasi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Trapiche reached it. 46 minutes into the game, Esteve Oalo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Orlando Balasi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteve Oalo in the 53rd minute of play forced Cruz Azul F.C's goalkeeper Orlando Balasi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Trapiche's goal looked a bit too open when Hipolito Astigar came free, but Leonides Salomon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonides Salomon came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Cruz Azul F.C's Karamfil Makriev. But to his dismay, Karamfil Makriev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 60 minutes into the game, Amancio Montes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trapiche's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cruz Azul F.C the free kick. 62 minutes into the match, Cruz Azul F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Esteve Oalo came free, but Orlando Balasi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonides Salomon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yasraf Darodjatun, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Cruz Azul F.C's Orlando Balasi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Cruz Azul F.C from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Trapiche defense, Yasraf Darodjatun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonides Salomon. The Trapiche fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonides Salomon should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yasraf Darodjatun in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonides Salomon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cruz Azul F.C's Karamfil Makriev got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute, Juan Lixandro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonides Salomon was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Trapiche's Leonides Salomon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karamfil Makriev in the 78th minute of play. Teo Mikolas hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Genaro Federigo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Orlando Balasi made a huge save. Fulgencio Lehior's late challenge caught a Cruz Azul F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fulgencio Lehior helped the player get up and apologised. 89 minutes into the match, Cruz Azul F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Esteve Oalo came free, but Orlando Balasi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
