Eusebio Menendo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriel Tohias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Siro Ixaka might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Blas Pere. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Siro Ixaka ran back to his position shaking his head. Octavio Lapurdi hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in VENEZUELA's zone, Gabriel Tohias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Blas Pere came out of the goal and Gabriel Tohias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dorados P.V.C's Siro Ixaka got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gabriel Tohias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gabriel Tohias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eusebio Menendo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Santana in the 19th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, VENEZUELA's Eusebio Menendo threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabian Santana, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabian Santana in the 22nd minute of play forced Dorados P.V.C's goalkeeper Eusebio Menendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriel Tohias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blas Pere having to interfere. With a little luck, Dorados P.V.C's Eusebio Menendo got control of the ball when Esteban Procopio tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to VENEZUELA getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Octavio Lapurdi hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Dorados P.V.C's Damian Bernebe got a free kick in the 28th minute. Gabriel Tohias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Blas Pere read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. VENEZUELA's Blas Pere played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Siro Ixaka in the 33rd minute of play. When Siro Ixaka came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Dorados P.V.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Siro Ixaka couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabian Santana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Fabian Santana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Eusebio Menendo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eusebio Menendo came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by VENEZUELA's Fabian Santana. But to his dismay, Fabian Santana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Blas Pere made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Tohias in the 63rd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Octavio Lapurdi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Gabriel Tohias kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Blas Pere. That made the score 3-2 in the 67 minute of play. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dorados P.V.C's goalkeeper Eusebio Menendo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Esteban Procopio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusebio Menendo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Santana in the 77th minute of play. Esteban Procopio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Eusebio Menendo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esteban Procopio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Dorados P.V.C players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for VENEZUELA.
