The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the game, Carabajal FC's Lucas Emeterio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Domingos Eyague made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 25 minutes into the game, Tomás Niva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paraní FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carabajal FC the free kick. After 25 played minutes Paraní FC got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Niva. Denis Castel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Carlomagno having to interfere. When Eriberto Ferran came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Paraní FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eriberto Ferran couldn't finish the play. If Denis Castel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paraní FC's Domingos Eyague played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Estevon in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fausto Estevon was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Fernando Eudoxio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraní FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Eudoxio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
