Saturnino Montes's late challenge caught a Aibar FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saturnino Montes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Aibar FC booed when Vicente Guerrero C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saturnino Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute Feliciano Urki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Ovando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 played minutes Aibar FC got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Montrell. After 26 minutes, Aristides Montrell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aibar FC and the Vicente Guerrero C.F. players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Aibar FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Aristides Montrell hit a great ball. In the 27th match minute, Aibar FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aristides Montrell to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Vicente Guerrero C.F.'s Leonardo Tirso got control of the ball when Leonides Grabiel tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Antonio Tulio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th match minute, Aibar FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basilio Balendin to maneuver through the defense. Feliciano Urki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Astor Ovando read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonides Grabiel to make the kick off. Astor Ovando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliciano Urki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elpidio Ursino hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Vicente Guerrero C.F.'s attack was well implemented in the 55th minute, but when Feliciano Urki was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. If Antonio Tulio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Antonio Tulio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Astor Ovando having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Vicente Guerrero C.F.'s Feliciano Urki sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Astor Ovando narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 75 minutes of play, Vicente Guerrero C.F.'s Antonio Tulio made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Astor Ovando was left in no man's land by his defense there! Feliciano Urki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Astor Ovando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonides Grabiel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Tirso having to interfere. Elpidio Ursino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 86th minute Leonides Grabiel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Tirso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonides Grabiel struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Leonardo Tirso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aibar FC. Aquiles Tabby hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Astor Ovando came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Vicente Guerrero C.F.'s Antonio Tulio. But to his dismay, Antonio Tulio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Leonides Grabiel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
