The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Feliciano Cuervas got free with Santos Ishmael in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 8th minute, Urbano Ascencio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Misión fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urbano Ascencio in the 11th minute of play forced Xusto Rodero's goalkeeper Serafino Jerrald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Feliciano Cuervas came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Xusto Rodero fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Feliciano Cuervas couldn't finish the play. 14 minutes into the match, Misión's goalkeeper Santos Ishmael had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Feliciano Cuervas. Feliciano Cuervas kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 16thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Misión's keeper Santos Ishmael was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. The supporters of Misión booed when Xusto Rodero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cayetano Nesor didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Mauricio Goren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Xusto Rodero's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Misión the free kick. In the 20th match minute, Xusto Rodero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauricio Goren to maneuver through the defense. In the 21stth minute of the game Fidel Teofilio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xusto Rodero's Serafino Jerrald was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Xusto Rodero's Serafino Jerrald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urbano Ascencio in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Feliciano Cuervas notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Misión's Santos Ishmael. Santos Ishmael was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fidel Teofilio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Serafino Jerrald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Misión's goalkeeper Santos Ishmael, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Misión's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Batista came free, but Santos Ishmael reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Urbano Ascencio hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Batista in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santos Ishmael prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Urbano Ascencio struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Serafino Jerrald didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Misión. Francisco Batista took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Santos Ishmael. Santos Ishmael dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 44th minute, Donato Pabla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Misión's Santos Ishmael proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Misión from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Urbano Ascencio was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Urbano Ascencio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute, Feliciano Cuervas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Misión's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mauricio Goren was slow to take the kick. During this time Xusto Rodero's players had a chance to rest. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Francisco Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xusto Rodero's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Batista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santos Ishmael breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fidel Teofilio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Serafino Jerrald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Urbano Ascencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carmelo Quilo during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 91st match minute, Misión was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto Abeitia to maneuver through the defense. Xusto Rodero were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Misión to leave the ground with a draw.
