If Nicolas Liher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victorio Illan's late challenge caught a Cruz Azul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victorio Illan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 24th minute, one of Leions FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Leions FC. The referee gave Cruz Azul a penalty, 26 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Borys Moizuk, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Leions FC's Israel Vedillo. 0-1. 30 minutes into the match, Nicolas Liher notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Leions FC's Israel Vedillo. Israel Vedillo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 35 minutes into the match, Nicolas Liher had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Israel Vedillo. Leions FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicolas Liher was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. If Ramon Moise had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Ramon Moise received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Kazimierz Czeszejko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Cruz Azul's Hugo Lartaun slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Israel Vedillo. That made the score 0-4 after 57 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cayetano Lehoi in the 64th minute of play forced Cruz Azul's goalkeeper Kazimierz Czeszejko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Efrain Elia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicolas Liher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ramon Moise struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Kazimierz Czeszejko didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leions FC. Nicolas Liher struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Israel Vedillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cruz Azul. Cruz Azul's Nicolas Liher got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cruz Azul played a much better game than Leions FC and deserved their victory. The Leions FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
