Alfonso Egoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Herminio Chorache read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Cayetano Xabat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th match minute, Calmucó was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Hunfredo to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Rodrigo Raulo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rio Grande Football Club's Herminio Chorache played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camilo Guillen in the 22nd minute of play. In the 30th minute, Samuel McLiam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cayetano Xabat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 34 minutes into the game, Marcial Shantala was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rio Grande Football Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calmucó the free kick. After 34 played minutes Rio Grande Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Marcial Shantala. Herminio Chorache made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ovidio Hurko in the 35th minute of play. A collision led to Rio Grande Football Club getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Cayetano Xabat hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute Camilo Guillen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herminio Chorache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Inocencio Gaufred's late challenge caught a Rio Grande Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Inocencio Gaufred helped the player get up and apologised. After 51 played minutes Calmucó got a freekick which was hit by Inocencio Gaufred. In the 55th minute, Samuel McLiam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Calmucó's zone, Samuel McLiam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carmelo Dunixi came out of the goal and Samuel McLiam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 69 played minutes Rio Grande Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Samuel McLiam. In the 69th minute, Rio Grande Football Club's Samuel McLiam fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Carmelo Dunixi was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. After a rather tough play, Rio Grande Football Club's Ignacio Florinio got a free kick in the 74th minute. Isidoro Oriol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmelo Dunixi having to interfere. If Cayetano Xabat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Rodrigo Raulo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Calmucó players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Rio Grande Football Club from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
