In the 39th minute Nicolas Ihazintu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulfo Oroitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, MANCHESTER UNITED's Arnulfo Oroitz got control of the ball when Raul George tried to sneak it across the goal line. Calfucurá's Nicolas Ihazintu got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Ariel Pancho fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Feliciano Txatxu, passed just outside the right post. After 73 played minutes, Calfucurá's Tomás Vasco shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arnulfo Oroitz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Calfucurá reached it. After having played for 80 minutes, Ariel Pancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MANCHESTER UNITED's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ariel Pancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raul George kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Arnulfo Oroitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Ihazintu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Ihazintu in the 89th minute of play forced MANCHESTER UNITED's goalkeeper Arnulfo Oroitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the MANCHESTER UNITED players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Calfucurá.
