Denis Etxekopar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cipriano Teofilio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. The supporters of Colón booed when Cardozos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albano Matia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute, Arsenio Lixandro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Etxekopar in the 64th minute of play forced Cardozos's goalkeeper Cipriano Teofilio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute Arsenio Lixandro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Segundo Leheren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
