After a defensive mix-up in Horqueta's zone, Roman Bento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonas Blasco came out of the goal and Roman Bento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 5 minutes, Roman Bento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roman Bento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 6 played minutes Horqueta got a freekick which was hit by Alvaro Ilixo. Faustino Pess short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Fabio Urtun to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Fabio Urtun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Veronica in the 26th minute of play. Fabio Urtun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Faustino Pes in the 29th minute. Faustino Pes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Fabio Urtun made a huge save. In the 34th minute Faustino Pes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Urtun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faustino Pes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabio Urtun read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Fabio Urtun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Veronica in the 43rd minute of play. Roman Bento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas Blasco having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Desiderio Jerrold stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Desiderio Jerrold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas Blasco having to interfere. Fabio Urtun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Faustino Pes's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Madrid's goalkeeper Fabio Urtun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roman Bento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benedicto Veronica might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabio Urtun. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benedicto Veronica ran back to his position shaking his head. Roman Bento scored 0-2 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonas Blasco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Faustino Pes came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Horqueta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faustino Pes couldn't finish the play. After having played for 77 minutes, Benedicto Veronica managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Real Madrid had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
