An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristides Frederik in the 10th minute of play forced Sanagasta FC's goalkeeper Camilo Hermelando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Atahualpa's goalkeeper Geronimo Faron had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Precioso. After having played for 17 minutes, Victor Dino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sanagasta FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Dino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Geronimo Faron showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Dino, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 20 played minutes Atahualpa got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Orzaize. 21 minutes into the match, Atahualpa's goalkeeper Geronimo Faron had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Precioso. 25 minutes into the game, Severiano Urbasa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sanagasta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atahualpa the free kick. In the 26th match minute, Sanagasta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severiano Urbasa to maneuver through the defense. After 28 minutes of play Sanagasta FC's Severiano Urbasa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Camilo Hermelando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aristides Frederik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cornelio Lico made a kick off. If Cornelio Lico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvio Lain was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 61st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erasmo Orzaize in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Camilo Hermelando saved Sanagasta FC from getting behind. Aristides Frederik's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Camilo Hermelando read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. With a little luck, Sanagasta FC's Camilo Hermelando got control of the ball when Aristides Frederik tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71st minute, Aristides Frederik left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atahualpa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 76 minutes in the game, Erasmo Orzaize fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Camilo Hermelando having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Sanagasta FC's goalkeeper Camilo Hermelando had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aristides Frederik. Hilario Medero's late challenge caught a Sanagasta FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aristides Frederik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Camilo Hermelando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aristides Frederik struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Camilo Hermelando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atahualpa. Aristides Frederik who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Camilo Hermelando when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 95 minutes, Aristides Frederik managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atahualpa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aristides Frederik was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Atahualpa's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
