Benito Cristofol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Desiderio Tuste hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute, Ramiro Bidari ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bonifacio Dominguez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience was convinced that Ramiro Bidari's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bonifacio Dominguez was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. In the 20th minute Ramiro Bidari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bonifacio Dominguez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Pericotes fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when Pericotes's Leonides Betadur looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Juan Eliu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Yapeyú fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Luis Canor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yapeyú's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Canor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bonifacio Dominguez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Leonides Betadur made the kick off in the second half. Tobias Barea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Eliu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Pericotes's zone, Luis Canor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bonifacio Dominguez came out of the goal and Luis Canor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bonifacio Dominguez made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Luis Canor sent off a good shot on target. Juan Eliu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Eliu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tobias Barea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonides Betadur in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 68th match minute, Pericotes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desiderio Tuste to maneuver through the defense. Juan Eliu charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Eliu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Leonides Betadur came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Pericotes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonides Betadur couldn't finish the play. After having played for 90 minutes, Juan Eliu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pericotes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Eliu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Leonides Betadur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Pericotes's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luis Canor fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Luis Canors short, quick shot in the 96thth minute got Bonifacio Dominguez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Pericotes supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Yapeyú's performance. The match ended with a win for Yapeyú.
