Victoriano Gombal scored 1-0 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patricio Frederico, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 11 minutes into the match, Malabrigo's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Niguel came free, but Rafael Orixe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Malabrigo fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Malabrigo's Victoriano Gombal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 20 minutes into the match, Santos Laguna's goal looked a bit too open when Victoriano Gombal came free, but Patricio Frederico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Santos Laguna getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Jesus Mirande hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Celso Niguel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rafael Orixe was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Patricio Frederico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dionisio Gilabert, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Patricio Frederico came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Malabrigo's Victoriano Gombal. But to his dismay, Victoriano Gombal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. After 39 minutes, Severiano Rik mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santos Laguna and the Malabrigo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th match minute, Santos Laguna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severiano Rik to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Marcial Cordeal in the 40th minute really tested Patricio Frederico's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 44 minutes into the match, Santos Laguna's goalkeeper Patricio Frederico had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dionisio Gilabert. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jairo Arlo to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Conrado Rico notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Malabrigo's Rafael Orixe. Rafael Orixe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 61 minutes into the match, Malabrigo's goalkeeper Rafael Orixe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Celso Niguel. After having played for 63 minutes, Celso Niguel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santos Laguna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celso Niguel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Antonio Basajaun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafael Orixe was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Conrado Rico. In the 72nd match minute, Malabrigo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Romelio to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Victoriano Gombal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victoriano Gombal scored 6-1 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patricio Frederico, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Patricio Frederico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dionisio Gilabert in the 81st minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Oscar Gergori hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 84 played minutes Malabrigo got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Arlo. Mauro Beltxe's late challenge caught a Malabrigo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauro Beltxe helped the player get up and apologised. After 90 played minutes Santos Laguna got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Beltxe. In the 91st minute of the match Alvaro Romelio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Patricio Frederico skillfully saved the ball. Malabrigo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
