An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristides Abeitia in the 44th minute of play forced Cruz Azul's goalkeeper Lucas Tomi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 88 minutes, Angel Chano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cruz Azul and the Boeuf players grew even worse after the yellow card. Angel Chano kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. If Aristides Abeitia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucas Tomi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aristides Abeitia's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Boeuf's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
