The Mariño fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Urbano Olivar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivan Berriotxoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Zacarias Valery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Urbano Olivar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zacarias Valery having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Berriotxoa in the 27th minute of play forced Abel FC's goalkeeper Zacarias Valery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zacarias Valery showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Olivar in the 30th minute of the match. If Hilario Olentzaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hilario Olentzaro might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elias Gaskon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hilario Olentzaro ran back to his position shaking his head. Elias Gaskon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Olentzaro in the 40th minute of play. After 43 minutes, Bruno Sanchez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mariño and the Abel FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 43 played minutes Mariño got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Sanchez. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Urbano Olivar to make the kick off. When Roque Matteo came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Abel FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roque Matteo couldn't finish the play. Antonio Eskuin hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Abel FC's Christian Merexildo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Mariño. Elias Gaskon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Olentzaro in the 64th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mariño's Bruno Sanchez got a free kick in the 65th minute. Roque Matteo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Elias Gaskon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elias Gaskon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roque Matteo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zacarias Valery made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Berriotxoa in the 72nd minute. If Hilario Olentzaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the match, Ivan Berriotxoa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Zacarias Valery, 0-2. The long shot by Antonio Eskuin in the 81st minute really tested Zacarias Valery's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Urbano Olivar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zacarias Valery having to interfere. After 84 played minutes Abel FC got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Eguen. Hilario Olentzaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 97 minutes into the game, Abel FC's Hilario Olentzaro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elias Gaskon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2.
