The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Álzaga's Samuel Weather played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicasio Celino in the 12th minute of play. Gualterio Mendebal kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Samuel Weather showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafin Joachim, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Gregorio Casomiro made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Christian Geofredo sent off a good shot on target. Álzaga's Samuel Weather played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafin Joachim in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Ramon Ourente was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Álzaga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Cruz Azul the free kick. When Lucas Gorri came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Álzaga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Gorri couldn't finish the play. Gregorio Casomiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Geofredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Gregorio Casomiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Gorri in the 61st minute of the match. Nicasio Celino in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. In the 92nd minute Lucas Gorri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregorio Casomiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucas Gorri might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gregorio Casomiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucas Gorri ran back to his position shaking his head. Everardo Kaxen hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Samuel Weather acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 99th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Uriel George. For all the effort they put into the match, the Deportivo Cruz Azul players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Álzaga.
