Vinicio Aznaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Angelo Guillem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Portugalete AFC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Cipriano Birila hit a great ball. After having played for 15 minutes, Abel Charro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugalete AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Charro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th minute, Maximo Michael made a precise shot to the right of Mateo Chano. Iturbe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Maximo Michael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Chano having to interfere. Melquiades Dolfo hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Abel Charro struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Mateo Chano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugalete AFC. Mateo Chano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maximo Michael's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Mateo Chano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Charro in the 34th minute of the match. Maximo Michael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Chano having to interfere. 38 minutes into the game, Dante Haimar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Iturbe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portugalete AFC the free kick. The supporters of Portugalete AFC booed when Iturbe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante Haimar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abel Charro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Maximo Michael put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Mateo Chano. The Iturbe players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Portugalete AFC were winning 0-2.

The audience was convinced that Maximo Michael's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mateo Chano was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maximo Michael in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mateo Chano saved Iturbe from getting behind. In the 59th minute Cosme Chorche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Guillem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Vinicio Aznaro made a precise shot to the right of Angelo Guillem. Portugalete AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 66th minute, Maximo Michael got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Portugalete AFC's Maximo Michael sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mateo Chano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Maximo Michael's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mateo Chano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. After having played for 75 minutes, Abel Charro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugalete AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Charro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Iturbe's Leonel Santiago got a free kick in the 76th minute. After 79 minutes, Vinicio Aznaro made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Portugalete AFC's Angelo Guillem tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Angelo Guillem stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cosme Chorche's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
