The supporters of Saavedra FC booed when Gaviotas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Eron didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 7 played minutes, Saavedra FC's Esteban Perico shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gavino Ireno came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Saavedra FC reached it. Gavino Ireno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lorenzo Bero's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Gaviotas FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gavino Ireno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celestino Sandalio, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Ciro Rey made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Gualterio Charro sent off a good shot on target. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Malvin hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Saavedra FC's Ciro Rey got control of the ball when Ivan Pes tried to sneak it across the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ariel Cordero to make the kick off. Ariel Cordero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Rey having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Ivan Pes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Gaviotas FC's Gavino Ireno got control of the ball when Celestino Sandalio tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 96 minutes of play, Saavedra FC's Cristo Domeka made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gavino Ireno was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Saavedra FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Saavedra FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
