The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fabio Eguerdi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Conrado Ospin made a huge save. Palmar's Conrado Ospin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Palmar from getting a goal against them. Flavio Alonso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fausto Ilixo went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 22nd match minute, Palmar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnulfo Euloxu to maneuver through the defense. Conrado Ospin made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Norberto Criston sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Epuyén booed when Palmar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ladislao Seme didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Epuyén's Silvio Raymundo tried to score from far away in the 30th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Conrado Ospin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Blasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Conrado Ospin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabio Eguerdi in the 35th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Reynaldo Blasco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Epuyén's supporters rose to their feet, but Reynaldo Blasco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Conrado Ospin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

In the 51st minute Reynaldo Blasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conrado Ospin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Palmar's Conrado Ospin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio Eguerdi in the 53rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Fabio Eguerdi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Epuyén's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabio Eguerdi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Conrado Ospin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 61 minutes of play, Epuyén's Reynaldo Blasco made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Conrado Ospin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Reynaldo Blasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 68th minute by Fausto Ilixo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Reynaldo Blasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fausto Ilixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabio Eguerdi in the 76th minute of play forced Palmar's goalkeeper Conrado Ospin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fabio Eguerdi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damaso Tabb hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Epuyén's Norberto Criston got a free kick in the 84th minute. Flavio Alonso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damaso Tabb in the 85th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Fabio Eguerdi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Epuyén's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabio Eguerdi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Conrado Ospin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fausto Ilixo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Alonso having to interfere. Fabio Eguerdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Conrado Ospin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 96 in the game by Fausto Ilixo from a close distance when the talented Flavio Alonso managed to make a qualified save. Epuyén's players were relieved.
