After some careless play in the Atlas FC defense, Justo Roldan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernesto Lauro. The Atlas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernesto Lauro should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Atlas FC booed when Libertad AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Siro Savion didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Justo Roldan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atlas FC's Ernesto Lauro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Sidoro in the 24th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Cayetano Gaspard left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Baldomiro Hanni's late challenge caught a Atlas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baldomiro Hanni helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Libertad AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Baldomiro Hanni hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, Cayetano Gaspard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Justo Roldan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Lauro having to interfere. Ernesto Lauro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Justo Roldan's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Cayetano Gaspard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ernesto Lauro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Justo Roldan in the 71st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucas Sidoro in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernesto Lauro saved Atlas FC from getting behind. When Benigno Marino fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlas FC's protests and gave Benigno Marino a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Atlas FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Benigno Marino hit a great ball. In the 86th match minute, Atlas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raimundo Cristos to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justo Roldan in the 89th minute of play forced Atlas FC's goalkeeper Ernesto Lauro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baldomiro Hanni hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The Atlas FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Libertad AFC from taking control.
