Clodoveo Jaizki might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aquilino Restu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Clodoveo Jaizki ran back to his position shaking his head. 19 minutes into the match, Guandacol AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Oidor came free, but Aquilino Restu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clodoveo Jaizki received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aquilino Restu came out and tried to block the shot, but Clodoveo Jaizki slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 20th minute. When Clodoveo Jaizki came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Mexicali F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clodoveo Jaizki couldn't finish the play. 2-1 became the score in the 25th minute when Tobias Oidor elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After having played for 28 minutes, Clodoveo Jaizki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexicali F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Clodoveo Jaizki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Norberto Roldanillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Veronica in the 32nd minute of the match. Aquilino Restu stood somewhat misplaced when Clodoveo Jaizki came free in front of goal and shot 3-1 to the left of him in the 35 minute. After 43 played minutes Mexicali F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Manilan. Cuauhtémoc Blanco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aquilino Restu came out and tried to block the shot, but Cuauhtémoc Blanco slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Oidor in the 57th minute of play forced Guandacol AFC's goalkeeper Aquilino Restu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the game, Mexicali F.C.'s Cuauhtémoc Blanco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aquilino Restu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Clodoveo Jaizki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aquilino Restu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. If Clodoveo Jaizki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aquilino Restu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clodoveo Jaizki in the 69th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tobias Oidor in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aquilino Restu saved Guandacol AFC from getting behind. In the 71st minute Faustino Aurre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Roldanillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute, Clodoveo Jaizki left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexicali F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. After having played for 80 minutes, Tobias Oidor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexicali F.C. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
