The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Frank Sachs hit a great ball. Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Dragoş Bitang sent off a good shot on target. Pompiliu Cordescu succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 14th playminute. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute Frank Melis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC Inter Sibiu getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Ivan Moșanu hit a great ball. Mircea Lipan hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Sven Krakouer kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Frank Sachs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastián Sosa having to make a save.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eusebiu Tuleiu was the one to do the kick off. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebiu Tuleiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 57 minutes into the game, Janik Vogt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pompiliu Cordescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adrian Dreifuss's late challenge caught a FC Inter Sibiu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adrian Dreifuss helped the player get up and apologised. When Pompiliu Cordescu came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the FC Inter Sibiu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pompiliu Cordescu couldn't finish the play.
