An unexpectedly hard shot by Eulalio Astigar in the 15th minute of play forced Palmas AFC's goalkeeper Mateo Fonso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Atilano Mantzio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Palmas AFC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Ivan Xacintu hit a great ball. Jaime Lalla hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute of the match, Severiano Checa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Fausto Abeita was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 29th match minute, Palmas AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauricio Canor to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eulalio Astigar in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mateo Fonso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Severiano Checa succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 42nd playminute. Fausto Abeita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Justino Aires in the 45th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eulalio Astigar to make the kick off. When Ivan Xacintu fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmas AFC's protests and gave Ivan Xacintu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Palmas AFC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. After 66 minutes, Jaime Lalla mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmas AFC and the Monterrey Titanes players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 68th minute, Severiano Checa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Mateo Fonso managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Monterrey Titanes's Eulalio Astigar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Palmas AFC's Severiano Checa got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 88 played minutes Monterrey Titanes got a freekick which was hit by Domingos Erdiano. If Felipe Beremundo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Palmas AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Monterrey Titanes were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
