53 minutes into the match, Palmas AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Cirilo Chucho came free, but Mateo Fonso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute, Justino Aires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Saul Pacorro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Fonso having to interfere. Samuel Ponce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severiano Checa, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Perla Negra FC's Samuel Ponce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Viviano in the 63rd minute of play. In the 66th match minute, Palmas AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Lalla to maneuver through the defense. If Cirilo Chucho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Perla Negra FC booed when Palmas AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Xacintu didn't get a good kick on the ball.
