But to his dismay, Enrique Christobal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 10 played minutes Chilibroste got a freekick which was hit by Conrado Hotz. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chilibroste's goalkeeper Tomas Damario, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 17th minute, Conrado Hotz made a precise shot to the right of Arnulfo Erdiano. Carapato FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 22nd minute, Lázaro Emeterio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Lázaro Emeterio, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 26 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Tomas Damario was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Carapato FC's Lázaro Emeterio got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lázaro Emeterio struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Tomas Damario didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carapato FC. In the 35th match minute, Chilibroste was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Hotz to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Chilibroste's zone, Florencio Salvatore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomas Damario came out of the goal and Florencio Salvatore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Lázaro Emeterio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomas Damario was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. In the 47th minute, Enrique Christobal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Chilibroste were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Lázaro Emeterio charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lázaro Emeterio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Carapato FC's Lázaro Emeterio got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Carapato FC's Lázaro Emeterio got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Guido Efren came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Carapato FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guido Efren couldn't finish the play. Lucas Poncio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Damario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lázaro Emeterio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Conrado Hotz struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Arnulfo Erdiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chilibroste. Lucas Poncio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Damario having to interfere. If Lázaro Emeterio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lucas Poncio came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Carapato FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Poncio couldn't finish the play. 89 minutes into the match, Chilibroste's Conrado Hotz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnulfo Erdiano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 92nd minute Conrado Hotz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulfo Erdiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lázaro Emeterio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomas Damario read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. The Carapato FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Chilibroste to win.
