A collision led to Rayos GDL getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Leon Vincent hit a great ball. After 29 played minutes, Naranjo's Pedro Miliano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alvaro Txartiko came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Naranjo reached it. In the 33rd minute, Pedro Miliano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A long shot from Claudio Frasquito in the 34th minute of play was well struck, but Aurelio Feliz made a really good save at the right post. After some careless play in the Rayos GDL defense, Danilo Aritza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alvaro Txartiko. The Rayos GDL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alvaro Txartiko should have stopped the shot. When Naranjo's Danilo Aritza in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rayos GDL's goalie prevented a goal. Serafino Gergori sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Danilo Aritza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Serafino Gergori fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Feliz having to interfere. Claudio Frasquito kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Serafino Gergori had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aurelio Feliz. Naranjo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Serafino Gergori was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 71 minutes into the match, Naranjo's Danilo Aritza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alvaro Txartiko narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Serafino Gergori received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Aurelio Feliz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Tano in the 77th minute of play forced Rayos GDL's goalkeeper Alvaro Txartiko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ambrosio Lobo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alvaro Txartiko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrique Eladio, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. If Enrique Eladio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Rayos GDL's goal looked a bit too open when Danilo Aritza came free, but Alvaro Txartiko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alvaro Txartiko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Aritza in the 95th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mario Nesor during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Rayos GDL getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Mario Nesor hit a great ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
