In the 19th minute of the match, Simon Mederi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Aristides Segio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Mariano Matai hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. When Leonel Frances fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VENADOS MERIDA FC's protests and gave Leonel Frances a yellow card for diving instead. After 25 played minutes VENADOS MERIDA FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Frances. 27 minutes into the game, VENADOS MERIDA FC's Daniel Illart nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hermengildo Galoer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Serafin Toro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Aristides Segio made a huge save. 39 minutes into the game, Daniel Illart was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VENADOS MERIDA FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capitalinos F.C the free kick. Jesus Ermano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Galoer having to interfere. The supporters of Capitalinos F.C booed when VENADOS MERIDA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Matai didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 47 played minutes, Capitalinos F.C's Lorenzo Nuno shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aristides Segio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Capitalinos F.C reached it. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Simon Mederi to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Simon Mederi made a precise shot to the right of Aristides Segio. Aristides Segio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serafin Toro went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Serafin Toro might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aristides Segio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Serafin Toro ran back to his position shaking his head. Capitalinos F.C's Simon Mederi managed to work through VENADOS MERIDA FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Simon Mederi dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Jesus Ermano hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. VENADOS MERIDA FC's Aristides Segio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Abar in the 72nd minute of play. After 74 played minutes VENADOS MERIDA FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Frances. After 75 played minutes, Capitalinos F.C's Lorenzo Nuno shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aristides Segio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Serafin Toro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Aristides Segio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Simon Mederi notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of VENADOS MERIDA FC's Aristides Segio. Aristides Segio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
