In the 33rd minute of the game Jesus Louis made a throw-in which Simon Eutor played forward. 38 minutes into the match, Solano's goalkeeper Celso Eleazar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anier Efraim. Anier Efraim struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Celso Eleazar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tigres UANL. After the first half Solano were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Herminio Sabin to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Jesus Procopio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Solano's supporters rose to their feet, but Jesus Procopio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusebiu Tender breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Solano getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Jesus Louis hit a great ball. The supporters of Solano booed when Tigres UANL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Placido Miro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Tigres UANL fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Solano were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
