Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Omar Estevon to strike the kick off in the second half. Esteban Opilano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Omar Estevon dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fidel Txurio, 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonel Hodei in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cosme Godoy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd minute, Delmar Artaldo made a precise shot to the right of Cosme Godoy. Celta de Vigo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. A collision led to Jaguars Veracruz getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Tomás Chano hit a great ball. The supporters of Jaguars Veracruz booed when Celta de Vigo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Omar Estevon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Honorato Goiz hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Arnoldo Ponc's late challenge caught a Jaguars Veracruz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Cosme Godoy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomás Chano's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Chano in the 89th minute of play forced Celta de Vigo's goalkeeper Cosme Godoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celta de Vigo's Cosme Godoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Chano in the 91st minute of play. In the 95th minute Delmar Artaldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosme Godoy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, Leonel Hodei had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cosme Godoy. Celta de Vigo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonel Hodei was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Jaguars Veracruz had played much better football throughout.
