Du Zhen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ceferino Abancens in the 12th minute of play. Du Zhen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jairo Rufo went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. When Victor Ondino fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored City Club's protests and gave Victor Ondino a yellow card for diving instead. 22 minutes into the match, City Club's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Rufo came free, but Du Zhen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute Ceferino Abancens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Du Zhen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cleto Lucian was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 27 minutes into the match. After 28 played minutes City Club got a freekick which was hit by Cleto Lucian. In the 28th minute of the match Zeledon Dominic sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Du Zhen skillfully saved the ball. In the 29th match minute, City Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Telmo to maneuver through the defense. If Jairo Rufo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Du Zhen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zeledon Dominic went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Du Zhen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ceferino Abancens, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 41 minutes of play, Halcones de Mérida's Anacleto Etxatxu made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Du Zhen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Du Zhen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ceferino Abancens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jonas de Toledo fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored City Club's protests and gave Jonas de Toledo a yellow card for diving instead. After 45 played minutes City Club got a freekick which was hit by Jonas de Toledo. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Jairo Nastasio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Halcones de Mérida's supporters rose to their feet, but Jairo Nastasio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Du Zhen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 53 minutes into the match, Anacleto Etxatxu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Du Zhen, 0-6. City Club's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Jairo Nastasio scored to the left of an out of position Du Zhen, making the score, 0-7. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anacleto Etxatxu got free with Du Zhen in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jairo Nastasio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Du Zhen made a huge save. Salvador Orlan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Du Zhen made a huge save. With a little luck, City Club's Du Zhen got control of the ball when Jairo Nastasio tried to sneak it across the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Jairo Nastasio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Du Zhen, 0-8. The crowd rose to their feet as Halcones de Mérida's Jairo Nastasio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Du Zhen. That made the score 0-10 after 80 minutes of play. Du Zhen was a little too slow when Jairo Nastasio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 0-11. The crowd rose to their feet as Halcones de Mérida's Ceferino Abancens slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Du Zhen. That made the score 0-12 after 94 minutes of play. Halcones de Mérida's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
