In the 18th minute, Mateo Ferrando made a precise shot to the right of Desiderio Peyo. Carranza's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Rodolfo Tauro's late challenge caught a Milan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodolfo Tauro helped the player get up and apologised. After 23 played minutes Carranza got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Tauro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornelio Pelagius in the 25th minute of play forced Carranza's goalkeeper Desiderio Peyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 minutes of play Carranza's Rodolfo Tauro was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Milan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carranza the free kick. Saturnino Bordat hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Carranza's Victorino Claus threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tarcisio Mello, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cornelio Pelagius in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Desiderio Peyo saved Carranza from getting behind. Saturnino Bordat took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Desiderio Peyo. Desiderio Peyo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After having played for 48 minutes, Tarcisio Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carranza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tarcisio Mello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cornelio Pelagius to strike the kick off in the second half. If Tarcisio Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
