Clodoveo Mogel was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 40th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute Eliseo Arano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genílson Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 45 played minutes SIDI got a freekick which was hit by Justo Ignado. With his leg Inocencio Raulo managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when Yucatan F.C.'s Benicio Loiola fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliseo Arano to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Eliseo Arano sped through Yucatan F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Genílson Loyola. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliseo Arano got free with Genílson Loyola in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SIDI's Eliseo Arano managed to work through Yucatan F.C.'s defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Eliseo Arano dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Yucatan F.C. made a substitution. Enzo Manny replaced Juan Gabriel. Inocencio Raulo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Enzo Manny's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Genílson Loyola was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Eliseo Arano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eliseo Arano really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. SIDI made a substitution. Remigio Fero replaced Clodoveo Mogel. Yucatan F.C.'s Abel Lugo was substituted for Telo Vaca. Genílson Loyola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Arano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Inocencio Raulo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Eliseo Arano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
