But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yu Jing couldn't finish the play. After 8 minutes of play, Vikingos FC's Marco Cantona made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Samuel Evarado was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Marco Cantona came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Vikingos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Cantona couldn't finish the play. When Hermosillo FC's Yu Jing in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Marco Cantona sped through Hermosillo FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Samuel Evarado. After 22 played minutes Hermosillo FC got a freekick which was hit by Chico Che. Vikingos FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marek Torm in the 27th minute. The corner ended in Marek Torm almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hermosillo FC's Samuel Evarado did a great save. Samuel Evarado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Cantona in the 29th minute of the match. Hermosillo FC's Chico Che managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ligitas Jutkus in the 31 minute of the game. In the 34th minute, Marco Cantona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vikingos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marco Cantona in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Samuel Evarado saved Hermosillo FC from getting behind. 47 minutes into the match, Vikingos FC's Marco Cantona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Evarado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Vikingos FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Vikingos FC's Sebastián Sosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Corderro in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hermosillo FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marek Torm was slow to take the kick. During this time Vikingos FC's players had a chance to rest. Sebastián Sosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yu Jing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Cantona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samuel Evarado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Samuel Evarado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Cantona, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 62 minutes into the game, Vikingos FC's Marco Cantona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amuchechukwu McPherson's late challenge caught a Vikingos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amuchechukwu McPherson helped the player get up and apologised. Vikingos FC's Luciano Lleir was substituted for Cássio Lopes. In the 84th match minute, Hermosillo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amuchechukwu McPherson to maneuver through the defense. If Ladislao Erramu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. Vikingos FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
