In the 17th minute Gabriel Villarreal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Sosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Rony Cortez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fabio Cerna came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Maidenhead City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabio Cerna couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the match, Slough's goal looked a bit too open when Rony Cortez came free, but Alonso Tobar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alvaro Ochoa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Daniel Sosa. Maidenhead City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alvaro Ochoa during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alejandro Morales in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Sosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Christian Ayala's late challenge caught a Maidenhead City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christian Ayala helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Slough booed when Maidenhead City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raúl Serrano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Maidenhead City's zone, Gabriel Villarreal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Mena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alonso Tobar having to interfere. Christian Mena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Gabriel Villarreal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Sosa was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christian Mena in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Alonso Tobar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rony Cortez's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Daniel Sosa came out of the goal and Alejandro Morales tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alejandro Morales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Sosa having to interfere. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Slough supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Slough would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
