Odir Melendez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Corrales having to interfere. When Clitheroe's Odir Melendez in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Chapecoense's Danilo Corrales proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Chapecoense from getting a goal against them. Odir Melendez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Danilo Corrales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arturo Cortez was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Clitheroe's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo Cortez came free, but Rolando Prado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Salvador Paz got free with Rolando Prado in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 58th minute Jorge Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Corrales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chapecoense's Danilo Corrales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Machado in the 60th minute of play. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 71 minutes into the game, Clitheroe's Félix Hurtado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Danilo Corrales made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 75th minute Odir Melendez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Corrales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Félix Hurtado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chapecoense's Jairo Pineda was substituted for Cesar Brizuela. In the 82nd minute Odir Melendez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Corrales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Félix Hurtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Chapecoense's Danilo Corrales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Félix Hurtado in the 87th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Chapecoense got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Pineda. 90 minutes into the match, Chapecoense's goal looked a bit too open when Félix Hurtado came free, but Danilo Corrales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Clitheroe booed when Chapecoense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Pineda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rolando Prado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arturo Cortez's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. 98 minutes into the match, Clitheroe's goalkeeper Rolando Prado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Salvador Paz.
