After a rather tough play, Shrewsbury's Julio Braun got a free kick in the 19th minute. Jorge Orellana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Ramirez in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of Shrewsbury booed when Partington FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Velis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcos Chavez was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Marcos Chavez made a precise shot to the right of Augusto Hurtado. Partington FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Julio Braun's late challenge caught a Partington FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Julio Braun helped the player get up and apologised. After 56 played minutes Shrewsbury got a freekick which was hit by Julio Braun. Marcos Chavez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 63 minutes in the game, Avilio Figueroa dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. If Marcos Chavez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Avilio Figueroa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Augusto Hurtado was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Augusto Hurtado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Chavez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Avilio Figueroa in the 86th minute of play forced Partington FC's goalkeeper Augusto Hurtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benji Alas got free with Jorge Orellana in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Cristian Ramirez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shrewsbury's Jorge Orellana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Ramirez in the 94th minute of play. Shrewsbury walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
