Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Orlando Bermudez to make the kick off. Marcos Sanchez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benji Alas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the match, Cristian Ramirez notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Fairfield's Marcos Sanchez.
